HENLLANFALLTEG COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

Minutes of the Henllanfallteg Community Association meeting held on Wednesday 1st November 2006 in the Millennium Hall, Llanfallteg at 7.30pm.

Present   Josie Thomas, John Spencer, Mike Calvert, Mike Hermitage & Peter Icke

Minutes  The October minutes were approved and signed.

Correspondence
 1  Carmarthenshire C.C.   Our public entertainments licence is dependent upon us having a current electrical test certificate.  The Secretary is making the necessary arrangements.
2  Carmarthenshire C.C.  invitation to take part in Fund Management Workshops.
3  Antur Teifi – Rural Innovation Programme.
4  PAVs funding exhibition, Thursday 26th October. Dave King & John Spencer attended.  John gave a brief report.

Future events                     

1  Boxing Day Walk. Millennium Hall at 10.00. 2 hours max.
2  Choirs. “Whitland Male Voices” and “Cor Undebol Ar ôl Tri”  It was hoped that Dave could arrange dates and report back by December 6th so that the rest of the spring programme could be decided.
 3  Sound of Music Sing Along.  Friday November 10th at 18.30.  Arrangements were made to provide tea, coffee & biscuits. 
4  Bingo.   December 9th. 19.30. Prizes needed.  Committee members were also asked to contribute items for a hamper.
5  Junior football knockout competition.   Request for use of Hall facilities on a Sunday in 2007 for this competition received from Llanfallteg Junior Teams.   It was agreed to charge £25 for the day £10 of which would be for extra cleaning.

Past events feedback
Twmpath.  This had been a very successful dance and we had raised £185 for our contribution of £180.  It was decided to write to the County Council expressing concern that monies sent for the Night Out Scheme was not being used for that purpose.  It was also decided to ask our County Councillor Jimmy Morgan to investigate.

Hall improvements maintenance and decoration works.
1  It was agreed to meet at 10am on Sunday 26th November to make a start on improvement and maintenance jobs.
2  Meeting room clock.  John had provided a clock.

Side garden revitalisation

 No offers to provide a bench had yet been received.   It was decided to investigate costs of a new bench and John offered to bring details to the next meeting.

Sandwich Boards The purchase of a board to stand outside the hall was approved.  The cost was likely to be up to £75 plus carriage.

Treasurer’s report

1  The report was received and the contents noted.  The £150 for hire of the hall had now been received.  The bill for the hire of the digger had now been received and was in the process of being paid. 
2  It was agreed that a supply of envelopes and stamps for use by officers be purchased.

Other Matters
1  Josie agreed to invite Circus Malarkey to take part in next year’s fete.
2  It was agreed to hold a fete meeting at 7pm on January 3rd.
3  It was noted that in the last month lights had been left on all night on several occasions and the heaters in the main room left on one day for 3 hours.  All hall users would urged to check before locking up.
4  Peter offered to lock up after Welsh classes at 9pm on a Tuesday.

The meeting closed at 8.35pm
