Planning applications – for action
W/17767 Tegfynydd Mill, Llanfallteg – conversion of mill to new dwelling – No
objection to application but concerns were expressed that windows must be of
traditional construction and in keeping with the building and village. The steel
chimney was not in keeping with the building and referrals in the paperwork to
“dwellings” was confusing. Clerk to action letter to Planning

Highways
Traffic Calming Measures – no update from J McEvoy regarding whether horse and riders signs were included in package. Intermediate ‘Slow’ signs between Swn y Avon and Dol y Coed to be discussed at next meeting. b/f at next meeting
Rights of Way – an update was received from Dan Pearce, CCC – some progress has been made
Matters for discussion
a. Sewerage scheme - communication with community and technical comments given
for forthcoming public meeting – it was noted that no movement had been made other than a written report which failed to mention public health issues. Private system is not an option. Clear answers & explanations required, GC to pen questions. Clerk to contact CCC Environmental Health and ask where their role fits in to supporting us in this matter and if they would attend forthcoming meeting on 8 Jan 2008
Councillor vacancies and forthcoming elections – Mrs Marilyn Scholfield’s letter of resignation in April 08 was addressed – GC to contact MS. It was agreed to make the community aware of council role and activities through the January newsletter to encourage the nomination of candidates in forthcoming elections – DK to action. Direct Targeting was also discussed
Consultation document “Developing Modern Services for Older People – Clive Mortlock answered the questionnaire which was discussed and all agreed – Clerk to action
South West Wales Integrated Transport Consortium – Consultation on the Regional Transport Plan - GC attended this meeting on how to develop and improve the transport plan. Views welcomed from Councillors. GC to summarise
Police forum – DK gave his observations and provided notes to cover the main points.
Highways – DK gave an update on the Llanfallteg road drainage improvements carried out recently by CCC, after the heavy rainfall. In general the performance had greatly improved and most of the floodwater had been taken away. Leaves blocked ditch causing water to flood gardens and road, which blocked the connecting pipe. Grids were removed by water and choked with leaves. Clerk to inform CCC Highways
