Community Council News May 2008

Well the elections have come and gone for another 4 years. We had a no contest situation as only four candidates were nominated, so all are members of the new council by default. They are Gideon Carpenter, Dave king, Clive Mortlock and Myrddin Pynn. The new council will be looking to co-opt 3 additional members in the near future.

Tributes were made to the members of the last council who have served their term of office and decided not to stand for re-election, John Spencer, Marilyn Scholfield and Josie Thomas. Emma Allum had stood down earlier in the year..

We did have the chance to cast a vote for a new County Councillor. Jimmy Morgan past member decided enough was enough and stood down after being a member for more years than any of us can remember. We wish him well for the future.

The election has brought us successful candidate Sue Allen, from Whitland. The new council will be seeking every opportunity to make use of her good offices to forge links and make progress for the benefit of the Community Residents. I think she has already found out that we are not afraid of moving forward. The challenge is on.
