Llanfallteg Memorial Playing Field Association

A Meeting of Trustees was held at The Plash Inn at 7.30pm on 18th October 2007.
Present were Dave King, Jeff Beattie, Christine Young, Myrddin Pynn & Peter Icke

1            Apologies were received from Don Loader.

2          The Minutes of the AGM were received and signed as a correct record.

3            Matters arising from the Minutes

The Toddler Area had been well received but it was regretted that the steps to the toddler slide were not suitable for young children.

4          Fete 2007

Despite the heavy rain a record profit of £1926.65 had been raised.  A meeting in February was suggested for helpers to discuss the 2007 Fete and the 2008 Fete.

A letter of thanks to Tony & Lynn Hillier should be sent.

5            Finance

The Treasurer reported balances of £2380.36

Around £1300 would be needed in forthcoming months.

It was decided to pay back £700 to the Community Association.

6          Local Community Funding Opportunity

It was reported that £2500 from the County Council was likely to be available for groups in the Lllanfallteg area.  It was decided to make a bid totalling £1930 made up of £700 for the replacement of the 45 metre wire mesh fence adjoining the footpath; £380 to replace the park entrance gates with heavy duty split gates; and £850 for replacement picnic table.

7          Park Upkeep

The up and down path was getting overgrown and needed an application of weedkiller before resurfacing.

The area around the big swings and slide needed the weeds clearing.  Christine volunteered the surfaces of Kevin whom she had bought in the Fete Slave Auction.

The Basketball equipment had again been vandalised.  The possibility of getting known vandals’ parents to pay was discussed.  It was decided to ask Emma Alum to cost warning signs.

New bilingual signs about dogs; Tony & Lynn’s fence; and one for the entrance should also be costed.

8          Fete 2008

The Fete would be held on 19th July and the date needed publicising.

The meeting in February was again discussed.

9            Replacement of Junior Equipment

Firms providing junior equipment were listed.

The meeting closed at 9.12pm
