Life Goal Overview

To get engaged to Rhiannon Louise

What inspired me to do this?

Finding the 'right person' was a term that plagued my early life. Friends would say "you'll meet them one day, when you least expect it".
I'm sure I gave other friends the same advice, but never believed it myself. So to go through my own personal venture and quest in finding the right person, to finally meet them and know undoubtedly that they were the one I wanted to spend my life with, getting engaged was the surest way to certify that and begin that life long journey.

Planning & Details

I plan, to get engaged. How that happens, what lead up there is to it I'm not sure.

In 5 words how do I feel now?

Wow, I've actually done it!

The Story

This engagement story is really quite subtle and simple, no elaborate plans or fancy plots. The weather was dreadful, heavy soak your jeans type rain, I was out on business rushing around trying to fix computers. I had to find time to get into town, pick up flowers, get home and come up with some grand scheme of how to propose before the kids are put to bed!!

It was getting late, Rhiannon had been home all day with Drystan, fetched Megan from school who by the time I walked in the door was in a foul mood and driving Mummy up the wall. Dinner was made when I arrived, because Rhiannon is a delight like that.
After dinner, with Megan still playing up, I took both the kids to the kitchen, handed Megan some flowers, gave the 10 month old boy, Drystan the box with the ring and into the living room we marched. Megan saying "Happy Birthday Mummy", Drystan sat on my knee while I knelt down and Mummy trying her best not to cry.

It was quite cute and I liked that fact the kids were involved, in a way it wouldn't have felt right without them. As a bonus, Rhiannon's mum and sisters came around with champaign and drinks and made a toast. So a mini celebration was held and it all made for a nice evening.

We celebrated further with a family get together at the Ivy Bush in Carmarthen where a number of people came on December 11th.

Official Comments & Thanks

I'd like to thanks Rhiannon, my fiancee for everything thing you do, have done and will always do so kindly for me and our delightful little family.
