Life Goal Overview

To do Long Jump at an Athletics field for the first time since leaving comprehensive school. Plus possibly beat my own personal best, if I can remember what it is?

What inspired me to do this?

I was quite good at Long Jump in school, right from primary school it was me or Toby Bradley coming first or second on sports day. In secondary school I usually came 1st in my year and was deemed the one no one had a chance against.
I came 2nd in a West Wales regional competition and then 3rd in a South Wales regional athletics competition.

When I left school at 16 years old, I left with it many of my sporting achievements like athletics, long jump and rugby. The urge to just try long jump for one last time has been knocking at my door for years and I'd love to just know how far I could go these days.

As my old rugby coach said to me "you'll regret giving up on these things" - Ian Webb.

Planning & Details

I know I can use Carmarthen athletics track and long jump pit when required, so the facilities are available. I shall work on my running and 5k distance run to build up my running skills and then consider tackling this life goal. I may get some running spikes, though it might not be essential and possibly a waste of money if I decide not to use them there after.

Who can get involved?
